ISE Barcelona 2027 runs from Tuesday, February 2, to Friday, February 5, 2027, at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, and on February 3 and 4 it also opens show floors at Fira Montjuïc. The 2026 edition drew 92,176 individual attendees and 1,751 exhibitors, and that crowd books the same venues, AV crews and coaches you need for a client dinner. For a side event, the calendar and the supply of technical resources weigh more than the venue list. This guide gives you the official schedule, the evenings that fill first and which services to lock before the rest.

What is ISE Barcelona, and why does it affect every corporate event in the city that week?

ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) is the annual trade show for professional audiovisual and systems integration, co-owned by the associations AVIXA and CEDIA. It ran in Amsterdam from 2004 and moved to Fira Barcelona Gran Via, where a reduced two-day event took place in June 2021 and the first full four-day edition followed in 2022.

The show affects anyone running an event in Barcelona that week, not only exhibitors. Three things happen at once:

  • ➝ Demand for off-site space jumps. Exhibitors host distributor dinners, partner receptions and press briefings outside the halls, mostly on show nights.

  • ➝ The local AV supply is shared. At ISE the stand is the product demo, so the riggers, LED technicians and rental stock you need are also working inside the Fira.

  • ➝ The audience is the AV industry itself. Your guests design, make, sell or install the equipment you will put in the room, and they notice poor sound or the wrong brand before anyone else.

This is where a DMC (destination management company) comes in: the local partner that books venues, crews and transport on the ground and runs them on the night. CREA Group Events & DMC has worked on projects around ISE since the first Barcelona edition in 2021, as an event agency in Barcelona with in-house audiovisual services for events.

When is ISE 2027, and what are the opening hours each day?

ISE 2027 takes place from Tuesday, February 2, to Friday, February 5, 2027, at Fira Barcelona Gran Via (Av. Joan Carles I, 64, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat). The halls are fully open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and close at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Halls 1, 2, 3 and 8.0 (Audio Demo Rooms) open early, at 9:00 a.m.

What the timetable means for your evening program:

  • ➝ Evening events start after the 6:00 p.m. close. Guests leave from different halls and exits, so give them a buffer before the first drink. In Barcelona, dinner usually starts around 9:00 p.m.

  • ➝ Early entry pulls exhibitor teams in at 9:00 a.m. A dinner that runs past midnight costs your hosts the next morning on the stand.

  • ➝ Friday is a departure day. With the halls closing at 4:00 p.m., few international guests stay for a Friday evening event.

What changes in 2027 with Spark and EdTech Congress at Fira Montjuïc?

For the first time, ISE spreads across two venues. On Wednesday, February 3, and Thursday, February 4, Spark (creative production, media and live experience) and EdTech Congress Barcelona run in Hall 8 at Fira Montjuïc, near Plaça Espanya, and an ISE 2027 badge gives access to both show floors.

ISE runs a free shuttle between Plaça Espanya and Fira Gran Via. According to the official schedule, buses leave Plaça Espanya for the North Access from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and return from the North and South Access to Plaça Espanya from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday), every 15 minutes.

For an evening event this changes two things:

  • ➝ Your guests may not leave from the same place. On Wednesday and Thursday, some will come from Gran Via and others from Montjuïc.

  • ➝ Plaça Espanya becomes a natural meeting point. It sits between both venues and the city center, which matters when you plan pickups.

Planning implication: a guest's full schedule that day matters more than the distance between your venue and the main show.

Key figures: ISE Barcelona in numbers (2026 edition)

ISE 2026 set records in attendance, exhibitors and floor space. Each figure translates into more competition for venues, crews and vehicles during show week.

  • ➝ 92,176 individual attendees and 212,512 total visits across four days (Source: ISE 2026 Facts & Figures, March 17, 2026)

  • ➝ 1,751 exhibitors on 101,000 m² (about 1.09 million sq ft) of show floor across eight halls (Source: ISE 2026 Facts & Figures)

  • ➝ 25,270 of the attendees were exhibitor staff, about 27% of the total: thousands of teams who also need dinners and transport (Source: ISE 2026 Facts & Figures)

  • ➝ 181 countries; Europe accounted for 78.4% of attendees and the US for 3.69% (Source: ISE 2026 Facts & Figures)

  • ➝ 64,507 visits on Wednesday, the busiest day of the 2026 show (Source: ISE 2026 Facts & Figures)

Which ISE evenings fill first, and which suit each type of event?

Tuesday, February 2, and Wednesday, February 3, are the evenings that fill first. In 2026, Tuesday recorded 56,456 visits and Wednesday 64,507, the peak of the show; Thursday held up with 57,215 and Friday fell to 34,334. Every exhibitor wants its client dinner when the most buyers are in town, and that concentrates requests on the first two nights.

One rule from our own projects: confirm that the people you are inviting are free that evening before you pick a night because a venue happens to be available. Senior executives and trade media receive many invitations during ISE, so the invitation goes out as early as the venue booking.

If your dinner has to fall on Tuesday or Wednesday, check venue and AV crew availability for ISE week before those two nights are gone.

Which suppliers get scarce during ISE week, and which stay flexible?

Not every supplier category faces the same pressure. In our experience, AV equipment and technical crews are the tightest, followed by coaches. Chauffeured cars usually leave more room to maneuver, and catering depends more on the venue and the date than on supply.

1️⃣ AV equipment and technical crews.
Stands and demo spaces absorb large amounts of displays, audio, lighting and the people who install them. If the event needs a specific brand or model, availability becomes the first constraint. The calendar adds pressure: ICE Barcelona closes on January 20 and ISE early build-up starts on January 24, so riggers and LED technicians move from one show to the next.

2️⃣ Coaches and group shuttles.
ISE's official shuttle, plus the shuttles that exhibitors and groups arrange, ties up coaches and professional drivers. A coach can be committed to a shuttle program even when it is not carrying passengers all day, and driving and rest rules limit how far a fleet stretches. For large group movements, book event transportation early.

3️⃣ Chauffeured cars and executive transfers.
Demand for airport transfers, executive cars and vans rises, but this category generally offers more flexibility than AV or coaches. Plan for reliability and discretion rather than assuming a private car is always faster than the metro.

4️⃣ Catering.
Catering is rarely the bottleneck in itself. What decides it is the venue, guest numbers, service format and staffing. A sought-after venue on a Tuesday or Wednesday can still be gone well in advance.

How far ahead should you book venues, AV and transport for ISE 2027?

There is no single deadline: a private dinner for 15 executives has different needs from a reception with external catering, transport and technical production. The table below sets the order of priority from CREA's operating experience, next to the fixed dates from the official ISE calendar that no booking can move.

For ISE 2027, start with four decisions: the date, the guest profile, the venue and any technical requirement you cannot give up. Projects that start later can still work, but the choice of venues, equipment and suppliers narrows. A local agency can find realistic alternatives; no agency can free up inventory that is already committed to a stand.

Need the client dinner and its AV for the same night of ISE week?

In 2024 we ran five identical editions of one corporate event in Barcelona, back to back over six days, for more than 1,700 attendees in 20 languages. The gala dinner at La Llotja de Mar used a video mapping of about 500 m² (5,400 sq ft) projected with six units brought in from Germany. Attendance reached 99.4% and the program closed 8.9% under budget.

How should AV production for an ISE side event differ from the show floor?

It should be smaller, quieter and on-brand. Inside the halls, exhibitors already show what their products can do; a dinner or reception outside exists for conversation. For an audience of AV professionals, a modest setup in perfect condition works better than a large installation that competes with the people in the room.

Three criteria we apply to every ISE project:

  • ➝ Production supports the conversation: good lighting, clear sound at a level that lets people talk, discreet displays and no visible cabling. Guests notice inconsistent image quality or a badly placed speaker.

  • ➝ Use the client's own brands: for a manufacturer, a distributor or a group with several brands, the equipment in the room has to match its portfolio. A competitor's display at a client dinner is a commercial problem, even if it is technically suitable.

  • ➝ Check availability before you design: the specific products a client wants may already be committed to its own stand or to a demo. Confirm stock and approved models first, then build the concept around them.

When it fits the brief, the event can show the client's products at work through sound, light or content, without turning into a second stand. That is the job of event production during a show week: technical decisions taken with the client's brand relationships in mind.

What technical specs should a venue confirm in writing before you sign?

Ask for power, rigging, load-in and build times in writing before you sign. An audience of AV professionals spots a flickering LED wall or audio feedback first, and most problems at an off-site event during a show start with a venue that cannot carry the technical load.

  • ➝ Power: total kW available, single or three-phase, where the distribution points are and who supplies a generator if the mains supply falls short.

  • ➝ Rigging: number of certified hanging points, maximum load per point (in kg and lb) and whether the venue requires its own rigger.

  • ➝ Load-in: street or dock access, maximum vehicle size, freight elevator dimensions and the hours trucks can unload.

  • ➝ Build and strike: hours available before doors open, whether overnight access is allowed and when the space must be cleared.

  • ➝ Sound limits and curfew: decibel limit, end time and any history of neighbor complaints.

  • ➝ Connectivity: a separate line with guaranteed bandwidth for live demos, not the guest Wi-Fi.

  • ➝ Blackout: whether daylight can be fully blocked if a projection or LED demo starts before dark.

  • ➝ Brand compatibility: whether the venue's house AV can be removed or replaced when the client brings its own brands.

If a venue cannot answer these points in writing within a few days, treat it as a warning sign for an AV-heavy event. Our guide to event venues in Barcelona lists spaces by capacity.

How do you move guests between Fira Gran Via, Montjuïc and an evening venue?

Plan transport around where each guest is at closing time, not around one pickup point. In 2027, guests may leave from different Gran Via exits or from Montjuïc, and a group of a few dozen to a few hundred people leaves within a short window after 6:00 p.m.

  • ➝ Arrivals: El Prat airport is 12 km (7.5 miles) from Fira Gran Via by road, and metro line L9 Sud links the airport with the Fira stations in about 15 to 20 minutes (Source: iseurope.org). For flight options into Barcelona, see our guide to direct flights to Barcelona.

  • ➝ Group departures from the Fira: confirm vehicle capacity, the exact exit (North, South or East Access), guest identification, a host per coach and the departure window.

  • ➝ Guests at Montjuïc: on Wednesday and Thursday, add a second pickup at Plaça Espanya or near Fira Montjuïc and check the official shuttle times before you fix the program.

  • ➝ Executives on tight schedules: an individual itinerary with driver details and meeting times reduces no-shows and late arrivals.

An evening invitation should never assume that every guest leaves from the same entrance.

What local staff can exhibitors hire in Barcelona for ISE?

Exhibitors can hire English-speaking, Barcelona-based staff for the stand and for off-site events, which saves flying extra people in. CREA coordinates these teams and integrates them with the client's stand or event team, briefed on assignments, reporting lines, brand guidelines and guest service.

  • ➝ Hosts and meet-and-greet staff for visitors, customers, partners and VIP guests.

  • ➝ Registration and accreditation teams for guest lists, check-in and credentials.

  • ➝ Information desk staff for questions, directions and practical information.

  • ➝ Product experts trained to present the client's products and support demos within its technical and brand guidelines.

  • ➝ Cloakroom attendants for stands, private events and hospitality areas.

  • ➝ VIP hospitality staff for private meetings and executive receptions.

  • ➝ Onsite coordinators who manage shifts, guest movements and communication with the client's team.

📌 For US planners: US visitors were 3.69% of ISE 2026 attendees, so most of your guests will be European, with dinner habits to match: in Barcelona, dinner starts around 9:00 p.m. Barcelona is six hours ahead of New York in February. Spain runs on 230 V at 50 Hz, against 120 V at 60 Hz in the US: check that any US-spec equipment you ship for an off-site demo is rated for both. Count working days backward: between Thanksgiving (November 26, 2026) and Epiphany (January 6, 2027, a public holiday in Spain), both sides lose time just before the build-up starts on January 24.

Mistakes to avoid when planning an ISE side event

These are the decisions we see go wrong most often around ISE.

1️⃣ Treating the event as another product demo.
The show already offers demos. An off-site event needs a clear relationship or hospitality goal.

2️⃣ Using AV gear that clashes with the client's brands.
For manufacturers and distributors, equipment choice is a commercial decision as much as a technical one.

3️⃣ Designing the production before checking stock.
Specific products may already be committed to stands. Feasibility shapes the concept from day one.

4️⃣ Assuming every supplier is equally hard to book.
AV, coaches, catering and chauffeured cars follow different patterns. Set priorities by the real constraint.

5️⃣ Choosing a venue without the guests' itineraries.
A good venue fails if guests come from two show sites with back-to-back appointments.

6️⃣ Sending invitations late.
Executives and trade media get many invitations during ISE. Securing the audience is part of the first planning step.

Frequently asked questions about ISE Barcelona

When is ISE 2027 in Barcelona, and which days are busiest?

ISE Barcelona 2027 runs from Tuesday, February 2, to Friday, February 5, 2027, at Fira Gran Via, open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. on Friday). In 2026, Wednesday was the busiest day with 64,507 visits, followed by Thursday and Tuesday. Spark and EdTech Congress add show floors at Fira Montjuïc on February 3 and 4.

How far in advance should I book AV crews and venues for an event during ISE?

There is no fixed deadline, but brand-specific AV equipment and technical crews come first, then venues for Tuesday or Wednesday and coaches. Inside the Fira, hall build-up runs January 26 to 31 and rigging must finish by 8:00 p.m. on January 31, so the same crews are busy that week. Start with date, guest profile, venue and non-negotiable technical needs.

What is the best way to host a client event off-site during ISE Barcelona?

Keep the format built for conversation: a private dinner or a reception with discreet, well-run AV using the client's own brands. Pick the evening by your guests' availability, plan transport from each exit and from Montjuïc, and confirm power, rigging, load-in and sound limits with the venue in writing before you sign.

Is there a shuttle between Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuïc during ISE 2027?

Yes. ISE runs free shuttle buses between Fira Gran Via and Plaça Espanya, next to Fira Montjuïc, every 15 minutes. Buses go from Plaça Espanya to the North Access from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and back from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday). Check the official timetable before fixing pickup times.

Can CREA work with an international event agency on an ISE project?

Yes. CREA works with international agencies as their local partner in Barcelona: venue sourcing, suppliers, technical coordination, staffing, transport and onsite management, alongside the agency's account and production teams and within its approval process. The agency keeps its relationship with its client. CREA has operated as an event agency and DMC since 2007, with offices in Barcelona and Madrid.
